The multi-select functionality in Demo Library will transform the way you organize, manage and interact with your demo content. This capability is designed to empower you to tackle tasks with remarkable speed and efficiency.

The multi-select feature allows you to perform a variety of bulk actions, such as:

• Add multiple demos or folders as your favorite.
• Add or remove tags to a number of demos and/or folders.
• Create a DemoBoard with multiple demos in a single click.
• Move a selection of demos and folders to a new location.
• Follow/unfollow a selection of demos and folders.
• Archive a selection of demos and folders.
• Delete a selection of demos and folders.

How To Use It
 

The Demo Library multi-select is a straightforward, easy to use feature in both My Demos and Demo Library tabs. In these tabs your demos and folders will be displayed in a table with checkboxes that enable you to select multiple items and perform a variety of bulk actions—like archiving, following, moving, etc. You can also apply these actions to all the items listed on the page in a single click by clicking the checkbox icon in the header of the table. 

Upon making your selection, the multi-select action bar will display at the top of your table to allow you to choose an action to perform in bulk. 

Bulk Favorite

This significantly reduces the clicks and time required to mark numerous important demos or folders as favorite, making it much faster to curate personal collections or highlight key demos and folders within the Demo Library. Instead of clicking the favorite icon on 20 individual demos, you can now select them all and favorite them in just a few clicks.

Bulk Tagging

Instead of individually opening each item to add or remove tags, you can now manage tags for a large group of content at once.

Start by selecting the demos and/or folders from the table. When you’ve made your selection, an 'Edit Tags' sidebar will appear on the right-hand side. This modal will allow you to apply your tags.

• The sidebar will only display the tags that are common to all currently selected items. This will help you focus on the tags that uniformly apply to the entire group. A demo that has "Marketing" and another that has "Sales," but neither shares "Product," would only show "Marketing" and "Sales" if both were common to all selected.
• When you add new tags within this bulk tagging sidebar, these will be appended to the existing tags on all selected items. They will not overwrite any unique tags that were already present on individual items.
• If you remove any tags, they will only be removed from the demos or folders in your selection. Any tags that were previously added on individual items but were not common to all selected items will remain untouched.
• After making your desired tag updates in the sidebar, your changes will be applied to all selected demos and folders.

Create DemoBoard in bulk

The ability to quickly add up to 15 demos with the Create DemoBoard action will significantly accelerate the process of assembling custom DemoBoards. Instead of adding demos one-by-one to a new or existing DemoBoard, you can now instantly populate a new DemoBoard with a curated selection of demos in a single action. This action is primarily designed for demos, as DemoBoards are collections of demos and folders are not directly included in this bulk action.

• Start by selecting the demos from your Demo Library. 
• Next, you need to select the "Create DemoBoard" option, which will generate your new DemoBoard. This might prompt you for a name for the new DemoBoard or other initial settings, similar to how a single DemoBoard is created, but with the critical difference of the pre-selected demos.
• Once confirmed, a brand-new DemoBoard will be created, and all the demos you had selected via multi-select will be automatically added to it in one go. This completely bypasses the need to manually search for and add each demo individually.

Bulk Move

Instead of individually moving each demo or folder, you can now do that for a large group of content simultaneously.

Similarly to how you add tags in bulk, the Move action follows the same pattern. Start by selecting your demos/folders, the right-hand side ‘Actions’ modal will open for you to select the new location to move your contents. After selecting the destination folder all your selected demos and/or folders will move.

Bulk Follow

The Bulk Follow option provides an efficient way to stay informed about changes and updates to multiple demos and folders within your Demo Library. Instead of individually subscribing, you can now follow an entire selection in a single click.

• Start by choosing the demos and/or folders you wish to follow. Bulk Follow is designed to work seamlessly across both content types, allowing you to monitor updates for a mix of individual demos and entire organizational structures.
• Next, you need to select the "Follow" option in the multi-select action bar. All selected demos and/or folders will then be marked as ‘followed’ meaning you'll receive notifications whenever changes occur to any of those items.

Bulk Archive

This action allows you to move multiple older, less frequently used or superseded demos and/or folders into an archive state, ensuring your active library remains clean, relevant, and easy to navigate.

• Start by choosing the demos and/or folders you wish to archive. This feature applies equally to both content types, providing comprehensive flexibility for your cleanup needs.
• Next, a confirmation modal will be displayed to prevent accidental archiving of important, active content.
• Upon your confirmation, all selected demos and/or folders will be moved to an archived state. While typically still recoverable, they will no longer appear in the main, active view of your Demo Library, significantly reducing clutter.

Bulk Delete

 The Bulk Delete option provides the most direct and efficient way to remove unwanted demos and folders from your Demo Library. This functionality allows you to permanently clear out multiple items simultaneously, ensuring your library remains clean and free of unnecessary content.

• Start by choosing the demos and/or folders you wish to permanently remove. This feature applies to both content types, offering a comprehensive solution for managing your library's content.
• Next, a confirmation modal will be displayed before the deletion could be finalized. This critical safeguard allows you to ensure you don't accidentally delete important or active content.
• Upon your confirmation within the modal, all selected demos and/or folders will be permanently removed from the Demo Library.

For a more guided experience, the multi-select actions are context-sensitive. They will appear in an active state only when you have the required permissions for your entire selection.

If an action cannot be performed it will appear in a disabled state as shown below: 

Reasons for Disabled Bulk Actions:

• Insufficient Permissions: Your role or specific demo permissions may not allow you to perform the selected action.

• You cannot use the Bulk Move action if any of the demos are unpublished, not shared, or if you are not the owner and/or lack “Manage access” rights.

• The Create DemoBoard action is disabled if any of your selected demos are not published, or if you have selected more than 15 demos in your selection.

• You cannot use Bulk Delete if your selection includes folders that are not empty.

• The Bulk Archive action is not available for folders.

• You cannot use Bulk Follow on subfolders if you don’t have "Follow" permissions for the parent folder.
