Master One Demo Type:

Start Simple with Vision and Micro Demos

Understanding the diverse demo types available on the Consensus platform is crucial to enhancing buyer engagement and streamlining your sales processes. However, diving headfirst into creating all available demos might seem daunting and can overwhelm both you and your prospects. While there are six main demo types (there are more), let's discuss why starting with a Vision or Micro Demo can set you on a path to success.

90% of our demo content consists of videos that are 3 minutes or less. While it can be exciting to make full length demo content, the reality is, it slows us down both in the recording and the editing process. Additionally, those demos rarely get viewed as most buyers want to interact and engage with shorter content. I would advise any new creator to start simple, start small, and make quick, engaging content. With this approach, you’ll make more content faster, scaling your teams while providing buyers with content they’ll actually engage with.

What is a vision Demo?

Vision demos convey the overarching value and potential of your product. They are ideal for showcasing the high-level benefits and future outlook to prospects. These demos are intended to be used very early on in the sales cycle and are meant to open the door to your product. Take a look at this example.

What is a Micro Demo?

Focused and concise, Micro Demos highlight specific features or functionalities. Perfect for quick insights and targeted presentations. They are usually broken up in to multiple, 2-4 minute long feature videos totally anywhere from 10-12 minutes total. Take a look at this example.

Why Start Simple?

With such a wide array of demo types, it's tempting to start creating all of them right away. However, we caution against this approach for several reasons:

  • Avoid Overwhelm: Building multiple demo types simultaneously can be overwhelming and may lead to inconsistent quality.
  • Focus on Clarity: Starting with simpler demos ensures that your message is clear and impactful, preventing information overload for your prospects.
  • Perfect Your Craft: By starting with Vision or Micro Demos, you can hone your skills in creating concise, focused, and effective demos.
  • Gather Feedback: Use initial demos to gather feedback from prospects, allowing you to refine and optimize your approach before tackling more complex demo types.

Getting Started with Vision and Micro Demos

Vision and Micro Demos are excellent starting points for several reasons:

  • Simplicity: These demos are straightforward to create and deliver, making them ideal for initial efforts.
  • High Impact: Vision Demos inspire prospects by showcasing the overall value of your product, while Micro Demos deliver precise insights into specific features.
  • Time-Efficient: These demos can be created and presented quickly, allowing you to engage with more prospects in less time.
